WYCKOFF, N.J. — Longtime Wyckoff resident George J. Burt died on Monday, May 9. He was 82.
A native of New York City, Burt moved to Wyckoff 46 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Before retiring in 1990, Burt was the international pricing director at IBM in New York City.
After retirement, he was founding partner of Quality Office Services in Montvale.
He was a member of the board at Spring Meadow condominium association, a parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff, an avid golfer and sports fan.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Helen Burt; three sons Michael, and his wife, Beth, David and his wife, Kerry, and Robert and his wife, Kristin; and grandchildren, Jenna, Steven, Kelsey, Ella, Lilly, Avery and Carter.
Burt was predeceased by his mother, Rose and his father figure, Louis Pennachio.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., in Wyckoff.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., in Wyckoff.
Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
